Greetings from the Bay Ridge Section of New York. I have been extremely uptight about school and so on, and meanwhile trying my best to enjoy the holidays as well. Friday night I went to a phenomenal Christmas Party with my volunteer job at the Knights of Columbus in Dyker Heights. It was a great party, everyone I know of that attended looked really sharp and fancy. And I regret declining on them twice, so I would definitely go to the next Christmas party in a year.
First thing I would like to bring up is the Manny Pacquiao fight against Juan Manuel Marquez. I was very very disappointed with the outcome at the end of the fight. Pacquiao was literally on a role dominating Marquez. Unfortunately in the sixth round Marquez defeats Pacquiao by knockout with a punch to the jaw. You know, when I first saw the instant replay of the knockout punch, I really thought that Pacman was getting hit right in the chest. Fights like this would have been a lot better if they did not show any of the pre-boxing matches. They literally put me to sleep.
Another thing I would like to talk about is one of my personal all time favorite wrestlers “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Everyone is making a big hype about his big return to WWE. Unfortunately guys, that will never happen again. Flair recently announced his retirement from wrestling in the ring. I personally feel that he made the right decision and we must respect him for it. Meeting him in Staten Island back in June of 2011 was one of the best experiences of my life. I feel thankful that I had this once in a lifetime opportunity.
I would also like to express my feelings on TNA Gut Check. Frankly as all of you know, they focus on one wrestler a month, put them in a match and than decide whether they will be on the iMPACT roster or not. All I have to say about Gut Check is that its not a good concept at all. The only thing I hate about it is, they recruit most of their talent into the roster and simply do not use them at all, for example Alex Silva and Taeler Hendrix. Both of them have not been used at all so far. I feel that the only gut check competitors I feel have a lot of potential are Christian York and Wes Brisco. I think Brisco can make good strides because he’s a legacy and I feel he can handle more than tag team competition. York, is another promising superstar. He has potential to be in the main event, but, it takes time to reach the top.
